Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented individual to join our creative and fast-paced greenhouse team. Greenhouse sales team members play a crucial role in the day-to-day operations, which includes maintaining the plant health and growth in the greenhouse, annuals, herbs and vegetable yard. The ability to work collaboratively with other team members and alone with guidance from the greenhouse supervisor is crucial. This position works closely with customers in assisting and educating on plant health and selections.
Responsibilities:
1. Plant care: Monitor and care for plants including watering, fertilizing, pruning, and repotting as needed.
2. Create custom pieces such as terrariums and mixed containers.
3. Assist with merchandising the greenhouse.
4. Maintaining a clean and organized annual yard.
5. Pest Disease Control: Implement pest management strategies and identify and treat plant diseases to maintain a healthy growing environment.
6. Record Keeping: assist in physical counts throughout the season.
7. Use of POS to ease customer flow at register.
8. General Housekeeping: Keep the greenhouse and annual yard clean and organized including sweeping, weeding, and removing debris.
9. Assist with workshops in the greenhouse.
Qualifications:
1. Positive personality and a can do attitude.
2. Previous experience in greenhouse operations or horticulture preferred but not required.
3. Knowledge of plant care techniques, including watering, pruning, pest control.
4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
5. Physical stamina to offload and display plant deliveries.
6. Work in all weather conditions.
7. Attention to detail and strong observation skills.
8. Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.
