Title: Greenhouse Team Member
Employment: Full Time and Part Time Positions
Location: Chelmsford
Duties: Assist customers with seasonal annuals, houseplants, herbs and vegetables.
Maintain a beautiful, safe and easy-to-shop sales area. This includes proper plant organization, accurate price tagging, as well as ensuring plant health through watering, feeding and deadheading. When necessary merchandising of plant material to increase sales.
Unload plant deliveries help get plants accurately priced and merchandised for the sales floor. This is (at times) a very physical and important part of the job.
Education: Basic horticultural knowledge with focus on annuals, vegetables, herbs and houseplants acquired through formal training, on the job experience, or at home gardening.
Experience: Experienced work in retail is necessary. General gardening knowledge is preferred.
Skills: Be able to receive, display, sell and properly care for; houseplants, annuals, herbs and vegetable plants.
Must treat all customers and staff with respect.
Should be willing to work as part of a team and desire to assist all customers to ensure the highest level of customer care and service.
This job requires stamina and strength.
Must be a reliable worker with a passion for plants and the outdoors. This job requires work in all weather conditions.
Must have a high level of personality skills to work well with customers and the Weston Nurseries team.
Ability to work weekends and holidays.
