Garden Center Head Cashier
Position: Head Cashier
Department: Garden Center
Reports to: Retail Floor Supervisor
Positions Reporting in (if any): Entry Level II Cashier
Position Summary: This position is responsible for overseeing the cashiers in all Point of Sale transactions, accountable for manager overrides, returns and able to assist in problem solving issue that arise at the terminals.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Operate Point of Sale terminals, with the ability to conduct retail sales transactions, maintaining cash flow, handling credit card transactions, and reconciliation of daily draw counts.
- Responsible for accurately posting SKU’s and/or correct product code for accurate inventory.
- Perform necessary transactions for returns, manager overrides and seasonal promotions.
- Maintain proper records at the terminals for all cashiers regarding weekly specials, mailers, discounts and special events.
- Oversee Entry Level I cashiers to maintain inventory accuracy through proper Posting of items at point of sale.
Requirements:
- Possess strong computer skills and the ability to assist others.
- Complete Epicor training modules within the Head Cashier Agenda.
- Highly motivated and able to work as a member of a team.
- Ability to work during peak periods, including one weekend day.
