Position Summary:
Weston Nurseries, one of the area’s leading garden centers and wholesalers of plant material and gardening products is excited to announce we are seeking a dedicated and professional individual join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in a customer-centric retail or hospitality environment and thoroughly enjoy working alongside fellow employees and customers.
The Barn – Yard Operations Team Member is responsible for unloading inbound freight (plants and landscape products), distributing products to proper locations, maintaining plants and product displays, and directing and answering customer questions in the sales yard. You will also assist in the daily picking and gathering process which stages plants that are sold or being transferred to other stores. When necessary, your activities may include driving and delivering merchandise.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Providing exceptional customer service assisting customers and staff.
- Moving sold plants and products onto vehicles or into staging areas.
- Unloading and receiving product in storage barn
- Organization and cleanliness of barn and chemical trailer
- Stocking and tagging of product in store and bagged good shed
- Assemble furniture and light carpentry
- Assemble and care for fountains
- Recycling cardboard and Styrofoam from unpacking product around garden center
- Deliver and display statuary, fountains, planters, etc. at clients home when needed
- General maintenance of grounds, roads, and facilities
- Ensure adherence to safety and security protocols
Requirements
- Excellent communication skills. Ability to speak and understand English
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Must be dependable, punctual with a strong work ethic
- Ability to work outside in all weather (will need work boots)
- Be a team player working with a diverse group of people
- Able to work on your feet for 8-hour shifts and lift 75 lbs. regularly
- Forklift and nursery equipment operation experience is a plus

- Job Title: Barn Yard Operations Team Member
- Work Environment: Outside in all types of weather must be willing to work at least one weekend day and some holidays.
- Reporting Structure: Reports to Store Manager.
- Pay Range: $15 – $25 BOE
- Location: Hopkinton Garden Center
