Weigela
Synonym: 'Courtalor'

Compact growing. A French cultivar with heavy-textured red, white and pink azalea-like flowers all at the same time in early June.
This species grows into a rounded mound with coarse branches that can arch to the ground. It flowers on new growth at the end of May and into June and sporadically into the fall. Foliage is disease resistant. This is an ideal choice for late spring color in combination with conifers and broadleaf evergreens. Also attractive when grown as a hedge. All W. florida attract hummingbirds. Native to Japan.
