Azalea

Deciduous. Summer flowering. Wide, columnar, upright growing. Rounded heads of clear dark pink flowers with orange eyes adorn the plant for most of July and give a light sweet vanilla fragrance to the garden. Long, pointed oval green leaves are quite resistant to mildew and turn bronze-green and orange in fall before dropping. (-24°F, UM) PP -- This cultivar or species has been selected as a "Proven Performer" by the Massachusetts Chapter of the American Rhododendron Society and performs consistently well in USDA Zones 5 and 6 Massachusetts landscapes.
