Azalea

Deciduous. Summer flowering. Growth habit is wide and relatively slow, with upright stems and vertically cast, medium green foliage. Extremely fragrant pink flowers with a light pink and yellow flare in mid June. By late June mature flowers are silvery pink and continue to give a moderately heavy, sweet, lingering fragrance to the garden. Autumn color begins in early September and continues with red-orange tones through October. We have experienced no leaf mildew problems. PP -- This cultivar or species has been selected as a "Proven Performer" by the Massachusetts Chapter of the American Rhododendron Society and performs consistently well in USDA Zones 5 and 6 Massachusetts landscapes.
