Early flowering. Deciduous. Wide, upright growing with graceful gray branches and stems. Pure pink flowers in early April. A vigorous-growing cultivar selected in the 1950s from seedlings of Rh. mucronulatum. Small leaves are colorful in autumn. Retains no foliage in winter. Full sun to part shade. We list this among both rhododendrons and azaleas.
