New foliage is electric green, matures to rich burgundy and purple for a tri-color effect. Autumn foliage color is a mix of gold, orange, and russet. Blush pink flowers in late spring - early summer. Compact plant. Grows best in reliably moist soil rich in organic matter. Afternoon shade is desirable. Adaptable to sites near the coast. Rarely severely damaged by deer. Spacing: 15-24".
