Columbine

Nodding, lemon yellow bell-shaped flowers with butter yellow spurs, mid spring to early summer. Attracts hummingbirds. Likes rich well drained soil. Mulch plants from late fall to early spring to prevent heaving as soil freezes and thaws. Suitable for gardens near the shore. Rarely severely damaged by deer. Spacing: 12-15".
