Maple, Manchurian Striped

A cultivar of the Manchurian Striped Maple selected by Tim Brotzman in Ohio for extremely bright white markings along the stems and branches. Upright growing and narrow when young, broadening with age. Pale green 3-5 lobed leaves emerge early in spring and turn golden yellow in fall. Pendulous yellowish green flowers early in spring. Small winged seed in fall. Not a long lived tree, but striking in the landscape. Avoid unrelenting sun exposure to protect the trunk and branches from sun scald. Best in afternoon shade.
