Grass -- Oat Grass, Blue Sapphire Fountain
Clumping. Semievergreen, upward arching, bright steel-blue foliage. Straw-colored flowers in summer. Spacing 18-24".
Ornamental grasses are fine additions to many gardens. They are useful in naturalized areas, as edgings, groundcovers, in rock gardens or as accent plants. Most are resistant to deer. Foliage and plumes are attractive fresh or dried. For winter interest leave season's growth standing; cut back to crown in spring. Like bamboo, grasses can be classified as clumping or running. Clumping grasses grow in slowly increasing tufts. Running grasses spread by creeping stems, are suitable for naturalizing or as a groundcover, and can become invasive.
