Weston Nurseries Supports Earth Day and Diversity!

April 18, 2008

Hopkinton, MA -- Hopkinton-based Weston Nurseries is donating to a special Earth Day Project in Holliston. Kid's club "Holliston Roots and Shoots" received a $300 grant from the New England Roots and Shoots office to plant trees with children from the Epiphany School in Dorchester. The planting will occur on April 26th from 10am to noon at Saint Michael's Episcopal Church in Holliston.

Holliston Roots and Shoots leader Michelle Tate called Weston Nurseries first when her group was offered the grant. "Weston has healthy, locally-grown indigenous trees, which is what we wanted to plant. When I called Weston Nurseries to ask about purchasing the trees, Kim Noerager immediately began brainstorming ways Weston could donate to our project. She offered to double our purchasing power by donating half of the plantings. Holliston Roots and Shoots chose Saint Michael's as a planting location so the trees will benefit the general public."
